The first Collected Works of the talented writer of the GDR Anna Seghers (German: Anna Seghers, real name and surname Netty Radvanyi, née Reiling (German: Reiling); 1900-1983) in our country. Zegers was a member of the SCM and the Committee for International Lenin Prizes; chairman of the Union of German Writers (1958-1978); member of the German Academy of Arts. The works included in the first volume are united by the theme of the liberation struggle of the oppressed, which, in fact, has become the main content of the entire work of Anna Zegers (Fishermen's Uprising in St. Barbara; Companions; Way through February). The second volume includes the novels `Assessed Head` and `Salvation`. In the novel `Assessed Head` (1933), Anna Segers, using the example of a village in the Rhineland, finds out what happened among the German peasantry on the eve of the Nazi coup. The novel `Salvation` (1937) is the first significant novel entirely dedicated to the life and fate of the working class. The third volume includes two of the best novels by Anna Zegers. `The Seventh Cross` (1942) - the story of seven prisoners who escaped from the Nazi concentration camp. The novel raises questions of a large historical scale, ultimately about the fate of Germany. In the novel `Transit` (1943), the writer tells about the fate of the German emigrants after the seizure of power by the Nazis. The fourth volume includes the novel The Dead Stay Young. It is dedicated to the unparalleled courage of the progressive German youth shown in the fight against fascism. The fifth volume includes the novel `Decision`, which tells about the formation of a new Germany in the early post-war years (1946-1953), the formation of a new man in the GDR. The novel shows how the fate of the Germans developed after the collapse of the Nazi Reich. The sixth volume includes stories and novellas written by the writer during 50 years of her fruitful activity (Beehive; Corrugated Iron Barrack; Peasants from Hrushov; Maria Goes to a Meeting; Square; Three Trees; A Man Becomes a Nazi; Shelter; Walk of Dead Girls ; The End; Crisanta; Agatha Schweigert; Strange Encounters; Stone Age; Meeting Again; Three Women from Haiti).
