Many chilling stories are associated with the mysterious Mshir idol, which was dug up at the ancient settlement back in 1911. He supposedly fulfills the wishes of those who serve him. But the price for this help is life. All those who fell into the hands of the idol, after their dizzying ups and extraordinary luck, were found dead with a happy smile on their lips... Almost a hundred years later, excavations are being carried out again at the Mshir settlement, and journalist Vladislav Klensky ends up there. Something strange is happening around: both in nature and with people. One of the expedition members is found murdered - and there are no suspects or evidence. And soon the corpse itself disappears. What is this? The machinations of “black archaeologists” who thus want to smoke out a scientific group from a profitable place? Or is it really about the machinations of the mysterious Mshiri idol? Without a doubt, something unknown is affecting his consciousness, because Klensky, unexpectedly for himself... himself confesses to the murder!..
