Collection of the founder of the legendary publishing house "Ardis" Karl Proffer, which includes a book of essays "Literary widows of Russia" and "Notes on Brodsky" that have never been published in Russian before. Proffer did not have time to finish much of what he had planned, and the book about the literary widows of Russia was prepared and published by his wife Ellendea Proffer in 1987, after his death, but was translated into Russian only now. And notes about Joseph Brodsky, with whom Karl and Ellendeya had long-term friendship, are published in full for the first time.
