Thus, paleontologist Lesya, renegade lawyer Nat, and museum employee Elizabeth are not much different from tyrannosaurs and archeopteryx. Cruelty in passing, the hardships of survival, vague loyalties, a love triangle, children, routine. Even suicide will not break you out of the vicious circle, will not save you from the painful search for meaning. And the dinosaurs became extinct. Maybe they died out of boredom.
