The book by Valentin Pikul includes a historical novel, a documentary story, and miniatures. The novel "To each his own" is dedicated to the life of the French Jacobin General J.-V. Moreau, who fought in the ranks of the Russian army against the tyranny of Napoleon. Moro's adjutant was the Decembrist M.F. Orlov. In the story "Requiem for a Caravan PQ-I7", the writer recreates the little-known situation of the death in the Arctic of a caravan of transport ships from America, England and the Soviet Union, which delivered goods to the USSR under Lend-Lease. This story is a requiem for the fighters against fascism, the military and merchant sailors of the allies, and above all the Soviet sailors of the North Sea. The miniatures are dedicated to the forgotten pages of Russian history.
