Jules Michelet created not only fundamental works on the history of France. He was fond of philosophy, psychology, natural sciences and embodied his knowledge in books about nature, religion, relationships between people, distinguished by their originality. Michelet also touched upon in his works the essence of female nature - the synthesis of the divine and the sinful. His enthusiastic and frank works about love and marriage - "Love" and "Woman" - gained great popularity among his contemporaries.
