Rurik Ivnev is one of the oldest Soviet poets. He first appeared in print in 1912 in the Bolshevik newspaper Zvezda with the poem `The sun is shining over me...`. Since then, the whole life and work of the poet have always been closely connected with the life of our country. His poems about the people of our homeland, about its diverse nature, about love and friendship, about the caring attitude of man to man are imbued with deep faith in the triumph of good principles. This book contains the most characteristic poems of the poet for more than half a century of his work in literature.
