The book "Persian Princes from the House of Qajars in the Russian Empire" tells about the history of the Azerbaijani aristocratic family. Its representatives from the middle of the XIX century. lived in Russia, however, without accepting its citizenship and retaining the status of foreign princes.
The fate of this family is inextricably linked with the policy of the Russian Empire in the Caucasus and Persia during the reign of the last four emperors of the Romanov dynasty. Representatives of several generations of this kind left a noticeable mark in the military history of Russia in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries. contributed to the formation of the army of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 1918-1920.
From the representatives of this family, who survived the period of repressions of the 1920-1930s, a whole galaxy of scientists and cultural figures of the Soviet Azerbaijan and the modern Azerbaijan Republic.
The book is provided with detailed genealogical tables. Narratives about many of her heroes are supplemented by the memoirs of contemporaries, full of curious facts and episodes. The appendices to it contain currently known publications and manuscripts of members of this family, which may be of interest to orientalists of various specialties: genealogists, ethnographers, philologists, etc.
