Фразеология в контексте культуры

The book offered to the attention of readers is formed on the basis of materials of the International Symposium "Phraseology in the Context of Culture" (Moscow, Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, June 8-10, 1998). The book is devoted to the study of the cultural semantics of phraseological units of various types. It highlights the methodological issues of the study of phraseological units within the framework of the problem of interaction between language and culture, methods of analysis and methods of describing culturally significant meanings in phraseological units, features of their functioning as cultural signs, considered on modern and historical material in the discourses of languages of different structures and in the area of different types of cultures. . The works contained in the book shed new light on the participation of the phraseological composition of the language in the formation and reproduction of the cultural identity of an ethnos, people, nation. The book is intended for philologists, culturologists, sociologists and a wide range of readers interested in the problems of culture and its embodiment in linguistic signs.
