Fyodor Avgustovich Stepun (1884 - 1965) - a major Russian literary figure; Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the Cultural and Philosophical Department of the Dresden Polytechnic and the University of Munich. One of the founders and editors of the Novy Grad magazine. Author of numerous interesting works, both literary and on religious and philosophical issues. Some of his works have been translated into foreign languages. In Russia, before the revolution, he was very popular and traveled around the Russian provinces with lectures on various topics. In emigration (since 1920) he wrote a lot about Russia, about Russian culture and enjoyed great respect and influence in German cultural circles interested in Russia.
