The first volume of the “Literary Encyclopedia of Russian Abroad” presents articles about the most significant and forgotten writers and critics who emigrated or were expelled from Russia after the Bolshevik revolution. Some of them later returned to the USSR and became Soviet writers or, on the contrary, died or were shot. The encyclopedia uses domestic and foreign archives.
The perception of the book in criticism of the Russian diaspora is traced.
Domestic and foreign archives are used. The largest literary critics and cultural historians of Moscow, St. Petersburg, as well as some foreign countries are participating in the creation of the encyclopedia.
The material is arranged alphabetically by the last names of the writers, and articles about their books are given in chronological order.
An indispensable reference book for the collector. Rare out of print book.
