The story "The Golden Rose" by Konstantin Georgievich Paustovsky (1892-1968) is based on the artist's many years of reflection on the complex problems of the psychology of creativity and writing skills. The writer began work on this book even before the Great Patriotic War and completed it in 1955.
"This book," as K. Paustovsky himself wrote, "is not a theoretical study, much less a guide. These are just notes about my understanding of writing and my experience."
In a lyrical narration about the "beautiful essence of writing," K. Paustovsky talks about many writers and poets.
In this edition of the "Golden Rose" four chapters - "Chekhov", "Alexander Blok", "Ivan Bunin", "Yuri Olesha" - are reproduced in the last author's edition of 1967, which Konstantin Georgievich Paustovsky prepared for the collection "Alone with autumn" ("Soviet Writer", 1967).
The collection includes short stories "Orest Kiprensky", "Isaac Levitan" and stories by K. Paustovsky.
