Songs of Russian bards: Texts. Paris: YMCA-Press, 1977-1978. - Series 2. - 1978. - [4], VI, 164 pp.; Series 3. - 1977. - [4], VI, 157 pp.; 21x13.5 cm. Each issue has a two-color illustrated publishing cover by artist. L. Nusberg.

"Songs of Russian Bards" ("Collected Songs of Russian Bards" - a poetry collection released in 1977 in Paris (France) by the publishing house "YMCA- Press" edited by Vladimir Alloy. The second and third editions were published in 1978. The collection consisted of three (in the third, improved and expanded edition - four) volumes of texts, accompanied by 30 (in the third edition - 40) audio cassettes with tape recordings of songs.

The publication widely represented the songwriting of Vladimir Vysotsky, Alexander Galich, Yuri Kukin, and, to a lesser extent, Bulat Okudzhava. Also included are songs by Boris Almazov, Evgeny Bachurin, Yuri Vizbor, Alexander Gorodnitsky, Yuliy Kim, Evgeny Klyachkin and some other performers. Along with the author's texts, songs performed by bards based on the words of other poets were also presented.

The anthologies are especially noteworthy in that almost all of Vladimir Vysotsky’s lyrics were published in themduring the poet’s lifetime (Mark Tsybulsky calls them “the very first collected works of Vysotsky.”

In the 21st century, the collections “Songs of Russian Bards” are a bibliographic and collector’s rarity.

Format 135x210 mm. The compiler and circulation are not indicated in the publication.

The publication was released as a text supplement to 10 audio cassettes with recordings of songs. Accordingly, the texts were published by the compiler “by ear”, as a result of which they contain numerous distortions and errors. The contents of the book are compiled only according to the performers of the songs, so not all the texts of the poems could be identified as their authors. Where this was successful, the author is listed in square. brackets [...]; where it failed, the name is left inactivated. In most cases, the content does not indicate the author's titles of the songs, but only an incomplete first line - this principle is preserved in this description; original author's titles of poems and their variants - see on the work page.

The content is located at the beginning of the book on pages with separate pagination (I-VI).
