The poet with an extraordinary fate Nikolai Sarafannikov was born in 1942 in Rybinsk. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the Leningrad University (Scandinavian Department). As a reviewer, he was published in the magazines "Moscow", "October", "Znamya", etc. Sarafannikov worked as an editor at the publishing house "Soviet Writer". In 1983, having married a French woman, he emigrated to France. He lived in Paris, where he taught Russian. The poet published five poetry collections. N. Sarafannikov is the author of many publications in magazines and almanacs, he is represented in the anthology “Strophes of the Century” with the poem “Double Surnames”: “For the sake of convenience, everyone is given / A decent nickname from birth. / It happens, with a free application, / Like a staff, it is supplied ”(excerpt). At the beginning of the 2000s, the poet returned to Russia.
