The collection "Lenin and Russia" consists of articles published by Sergei Germanovich Pushkarev (1888-1984) in foreign Russian periodicals in the 50s-70s. The author's thought runs throughout the book that Lenin's policy was always subordinated to the idea of carrying out the world communist revolution. Surprised at the short-sightedness and forgetfulness of Western politicians who fall for the bait of talking about "peaceful coexistence", the author insistently emphasizes the immutability of this main goal of Lenin, for which he and his associates considered any means acceptable. Citing extensive documentary material, S. G. Pushkarev convincingly proves that the October coup of 1917 was made with money received by the Bolsheviks from the leadership of Kaiser Germany, which was at war with Russia, interested in the Leninist party coming to power, preaching the defeat of their country in this "imperialist massacre ". German money, plus the policy of "non-intervention in Russian affairs", actually carried out by the Western powers, saved the Bolsheviks, giving them the opportunity to retain power and strengthen it. Exposing the legend that has spread throughout the world about the supposedly heroic accomplishment of the October Revolution, the "storming of the Winter Palace", etc., S. G. Pushkarev shows how power was actually seized - through lies and deceit, without serious resistance, and therefore no heroics. The author devotes a lot of space to an examination of the double-dealing foreign policy that the communists began to pursue from the very first days of their stay in power. The collection is provided with notes to each article and a biography of the author.
