The book by G. M. Katkov "The Kornilov Case" is one of the best works about the attempt to save the Russian monarchy, undertaken in the summer of 1917 by General Lavr Georgievich Kornilov, and about the treacherous disruption of it by Alexander Kerensky.

Georgy Mikhailovich Katkov (1903-1985) is a well-known historian of the Russian diaspora, philosopher, professor at Oxford University. He devoted a significant part of his life to the study of the Russian revolution and its causes.
