The Orthodox magazine "Eternal" was published in 1948-1992. in France, in Asnieres (a suburb of Paris). The program of the publication was determined on the first page of No. 1 by the editor, Archimandrite Methodius: “The magazine will not tell about current church life, nor will it reflect modern theological thought. Its task is simply to open for the reader the eternal treasury of the Orthodox faith and the Orthodox Church.” The magazine regularly published interpretations of the Holy Scriptures, chapters and fragments from the works of St. fathers and Russian spiritual writers, lives of saints (including the Greek New Martyrs), biographies of ascetics of piety, apologetic articles and notes. Many publications in the journal are reprints or selections from pre-revolutionary books, magazines or earlier foreign periodicals.
