The book presents the highest Teachings of Yogis regarding the Absolute and Its manifestations. The reader will be able to understand and learn that the One Reality underlying all life is above mind or matter, and the most optimal term for it would be "Spirit". World life manifests itself in countless forms of life and activity. The whole world is alive, there is not a single dead object in it, and there cannot be such a thing as a dead object in the world. The mental influence is almost overlooked by Western evolutionists who are generally inclined to view the mind as a "by-product" of matter. Yogis, on the other hand, regard matter as a product of the mind. The most diverse manifestations of life, surrounding us from all sides, yoga teaches, are only forms of one World Life, which, in turn, is an emanation of the Absolute. Once a person is willing to focus his thoughts on this idea, he will soon begin to understand the truth. He will begin to feel that he himself is only a center of consciousness in the great Ocean of Life, that he is connected with other centers by innumerable spiritual and mental threads, and that all centers arise from the One. He will see that the illusion of separateness is nothing more than a "working hypothesis of the universe", and that everything is - after all - one, and the basis of everything is the One. This is the subject of Gyani Yoga.
