The proposed manual aims to help the seeker find his own path of spiritual perfection. The Bible is the book of life. As life is diverse and multifaceted, so the Bible has many aspects and facets. The Lord reveals His Covenant to each person through the Word of God. However, the most striking evidence of the Covenant of God is contained in the Church of Christ. The Bible is the book of the Christian Church. Only in the Church is the Bible the Holy Book of the Old and New Testaments. Only in the Church at all times has the Bible best proclaimed the immutability of eternal spiritual values. Therefore, everyone who wants to designate spiritual guidelines for themselves must listen first of all to the voice of the Church and to the voice of those who have walked or are following the path of spiritual perfection. The conciliar mind of the Church is the best guarantee in the search for solutions to questions of the spiritual plane. The proposed manual contains statements and advice from people of different spiritual levels. Man's thirst to drink the water "flowing into eternal life" (John 4:14) is a sign of his normal spiritual development. Just as a person needs to make an effort to quench his natural thirst, so spiritually a person must be ready to encourage himself to learn to hear the ascetics of faith and piety, to understand the language of icons and religious painting, to feel the beauty and grandeur of spiritual poetry. The various aspects of the perception of the Bible collected in the proposed manual are only a small part of the huge church treasury.
