The book tells about the life of a disciple of the elders of the Holy Smolensk Zosima Hermitage, an elder and confessor of Orthodoxy, who died in 1938 in a concentration camp, Schema-Archimandrite Ignatius (Lebedev) and his spiritual children. Biography about. Ignatius was compiled by his spiritual daughter, the nun Ignatius (Petrovskaya). Much of what mother told about Fr. Ignatius in her conversations, for one reason or another, was not included in her book, written in the forties, and so that nothing was forgotten, we supplemented the biography with these oral stories. The biography of Schema-Archimandrite Ignatius introduces us to a remarkable ascetic of the 20th century, reveals his undoubtedly impeccable spiritual disposition. We hope that in the midst of false spirituality and widespread youthful senility, Fr. Ignatius will serve as an example of a mentor whose image of spiritual leadership was quite correct for our time and brought good results. At the same time, let this book be a tribute to the memory of the ever-remembered schiarchim. Ignatius, as well as to all the brothers of the Zosima Hermitage and the Vysoko-Petrovsky Monastery, who preserved the candle of Orthodoxy during the difficult years of persecution and created an entire spiritual tradition, still almost unexplored.
