Description In the course of colonial conquests and the formation of the modern West, a system of ideological myths was formed, called Eurocentrism. He argues that the West is the only civilization that has passed in its development the `correct` path (the `high road`), which all other cultures and civilizations must inevitably pass. At the end of this path, all of humanity will acquire the same "correct" system of economy and social structure, similar to the West. In the 1970s and 1980s, most of the Soviet intelligentsia fell under the influence of this ideology, and during the years of perestroika, Eurocentrism tacitly became the ideological basis of official policy. This contributed to the defeat of the USSR in the Cold War and the catastrophic crisis in Russia. The book examines the main myths of Eurocentrism and their refraction in the ideology of perestroika and reforms in our country.
