Description The handbook provides the latest data (as of mid-1978) on the population on a global scale: birth and death rates, marital status, marriages, divorces, age composition, sex structure of the population, external and internal migration, population distribution (density, etc.). etc.), urbanization, ethnic and linguistic composition, racial structure of the population, religious composition. For each country (there are 210 in total), a characteristic of the ethnic, linguistic and religious composition of the population is given. Approximate population data by country for 1980 are given, summary tables are placed, a list of all the peoples of the world with an indication of their numbers.
