Some people tend to consider András Berkesy a writer of the detective, adventure genre. Berkeschi himself categorically rejects such a one-sided assessment. And I think we should agree with him. Of course, he has works that are unequivocally written in the detective genre, though, and here a significant clarification should be made: none of his books of this kind is, so to speak, a “pure”, “criminal” detective story. All of them carry a pronounced socio-political charge that determines the content of each of them. In this regard, it would be appropriate to cite the statement of the writer himself, characterizing his approach and his attitude to the creation of works that he solves in the genre of political detective story.
