The Apocalypse, or the Revelation of John the Theologian, is the final book of the New Testament. It describes the events preceding the Second Coming of Christ, the Coming itself and the subsequent Transfiguration of the world.

Visions of many-eyed creatures, horsemen examining the earth, people from the abyss, fire-breathing witnesses, monstrous beasts, a bloody harlot over the past centuries have acquired many historical and symbolic interpretations. The mysteries of the last battle, the millennium and the Last Judgment remained unresolved, despite ideological battles and denunciations of heresies.
