“The Saga of Sverrir” is the oldest surviving, and in its entirety, “royal sagas”, or sagas about the kings, telling about the history of medieval Norway. She depicts the dramatic events of the last quarter of the 12th and the first years of the 13th century, known in scientific literature as “civil wars.” Chronologically, it serves as a continuation of the “Earthly Circle” - the largest collection of “royal sagas”, which is believed to have been created in 1220 - 1230. the famous Icelander Snorri Sturluson. It is translated into Russian for the first time.
