The book offers a "fresh look" at the aging processes in the world and in Russia. The authors see the aging process as the most important achievement of the socio-economic development of mankind and a humane attitude towards each person. We do not bypass a number of aging problems associated with the lag of social institutions from the requirements of the new social and age structure of the population or the growing needs of the elderly themselves. It is shown that modern society provides quite a variety of opportunities for self-identification in old age. A number of problematic situations were studied, where the elderly actively adapt the challenges of society, successfully using them, for example, by joining the information communities of the Internet. The book is addressed to researchers, students and simply curious readers who are interested in the global social trends of modern society.
