More info

The two-volume collection of Selected Works by M. Bubennov includes the best works of the author, created by him over forty years of literary activity.
The first volume opens with works written before the war. All of them: the story "Immortality" - about the struggle for Soviet power in the Kama region, and the stories ("Fire in the Taiga", "On the Katun" and "Foreign Land") - about the fight against the White Guard in Siberia - are dedicated to the heroic deed of the Soviet people. This theme was further and most vividly developed in the novel "White Birch", about the heroic deed of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. For this novel, M. Bubennov was awarded the State Prize of the 1st degree.
The second volume of M. Bubennov's selected works includes the novels "Eagle Steppe" and "Stremnina". These novels are devoted to the theme of the post-war peaceful patriotic feat of the Soviet people, especially young people, in the development of the sparsely populated expanses of Siberia. Young enthusiasts, under the leadership of the communists, devote all their strength to the solution of this grandiose task, on which our future largely depends.
The novel Stremnina was awarded the prize of the Presidium of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions and the Union of Writers of the USSR at the All-Union competition for the best work about the working class.
