The novel by the writer A. Chakovsky "Victory" links together two great historical milestones - the summer of 1945, when a political battle was played out in Potsdam to ensure a lasting peace after the end of the Great Patriotic War, and the summer of 1975, when the leaders of thirty-three European countries, as well as the US and Canada signed the Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The action of the novel begins in Helsinki, where the journalist Voronov arrives. The basis of the narrative of the novel is the story of the Potsdam Conference.
Using a huge documentary material, the author creates living portraits of its main participants - Stalin, Churchill, Truman.
In "Victory" A. Chakovsky continues to develop the epic he started in the epic " Blockade" theme of the great confrontation between the two worlds - the world of socialism and the world of capitalism.
