More info

When ancient Moscow was located on the northern banks of the Moskva River, on the south side of the river valley there were forests with many small villages. These lands, which belonged to the Vyatichi people nine centuries ago, gradually became part of the Moscow principality. Most of them were united in the 19th century in the Zyuzinsky volost. The author of the book, a professional writer and journalist, scrupulously researching the history of this volost in the archives, which occupied the territory between modern Kuntsevo and Brateev, managed to show a vivid, continuous picture of the development of the region, villages, their owners and peasant families, which made up the indigenous part of the population of the village of Zyuzina.
The book, executed in the genre of a documentary epic, covers the period from the Kurgan times until 1960, when the lands of the former volosts near Moscow entered the capital.
