The book of memoirs of the hereditary Mologa peasant Pavel Zaitsev (1919 - 1992), the chapters of which are now offered to the reader's attention, has lain in the author's desk since 1975 - life taught Pavel caution. After all, he recalls life, places, way of life, ruthlessly destroyed by the communists, who, as you know, did not want to “wait for favors from nature” and used the semi-slavish labor of their subjects for a delusional, hellish redrawing of it up to the failed (thank God!) turn of the northern rivers, which would have completely ruined Russia... “I was born in haymaking, at the end of June 1919, in the family of Ivan Nikanorovich Zaitsev, a peasant in the village of Novinka-Skorodumovo, Breytovsky volost, then Mologsky district, Yaroslavl province. At that time, twenty-two people gathered in the hut of my grandfather Nikanor, and they sat down to dine at the table for four receptions. First, the children dined, then Nicanor's six sons, then his six daughters-in-law sat down, the last to dine was the owner himself with his wife Anna and the decrepit old Feoktist. They lived in close quarters, but calmly and harmlessly, everyone respected each other, tried to please the head of the family in everything. And he was a calm old man, hospitable, did not pursue profit, did not offend anyone, and all family members trusted him in everything.
