Will the Kirillov branch of the Romanovs be used as a decoration to maintain the power of the nomenklatura-financial oligarchy in the Russian Federation under the guise of restoring the monarchy? Already in the first edition of this book (1996) it was documented that “this branch is not suitable for the Russian Throne either according to the Basic Laws of the Russian Empire, or according to the canons of the Orthodox Church, or in its moral character.” The key to solving all the problems of the Russian succession to the throne is the religious meaning of the Orthodox monarchy. In the appendices: the approved charter of the Council of 1613 on the calling of the Romanov family to the Throne, the Basic Laws of the Russian Empire, the most important archival documents on the problem of succession to the throne, the complete genealogy of the Romanov Dynasty, including modern descendants, including in other dynasties - all this makes the book also a comprehensive reference book on this issue. The second edition (1998) was supplemented by an extensive polemical section: the reaction of official representatives of the Kirillovichs to the publication of the book.

This third edition reproduces the text of the second with the correction of typos and similar minor errors, with some reduction of unimportant parts of the controversy, instead the data in the genealogy has been updated and expanded. This publication is being published at the numerous requests of monarchists from different cities, since the Kirillovichs, hoping that they will be needed by the new president, and taking advantage of the incompetence of many representatives of the authorities, generals and clergy, have again launched vigorous activity in Russia.

(Dietmar Gerhard Stüdemann)
