The name of Pushkin is infinitely close to the people. We carefully preserve everything connected with the life and work of the great poet as a national shrine. Pushkin's memorial sites are surrounded with love and care.

The State Pushkin Reserve has become a place of pilgrimage for millions of admirers of Russian literature who come here from all over our country and from abroad.

Mikhailovskoye is a land of great inspiration. Here, in a picturesque corner of his native land, glorified by Pushkin, the immortal poems of the poet are heard at folk festivals, awakening in people feelings of the beautiful and sublime.

In the book offered to the reader, an attempt is made by means artistic photography to recreate the beauty and uniqueness of Pushkin’s places, to penetrate into the environment that surrounded the poet in one of the most difficult periods of his life. Here are some of the poems that Pushkin wrote in Mikhailovsky, or that he dedicated to this lovely corner of the Russian land, short memories of his contemporaries, as well as drawings by the poet himself.
