The book of the famous Ukrainian archaeologist and historian P.P. Tolochko talks about historical writing Rus' X-XIII centuries. This is, in essence, the first special monographic study devoted not to just one chronicle or code, but to the entire heritage of ancient Russian chroniclers that has survived to this day. The author has numerous predecessors in this area, but the study of Russian chronicles is still far from complete. It contains so much and varied historical information that it will be a source of creative inspiration and new discoveries for a long time to come. The book focuses on the chronology of all-Russian and land chronicles, their relationships and connections, the content and ideological orientation of individual legends, stories and codes, and the determination of their authorship.
