The purpose of these essays is to characterize the most interesting pictorial, sculptural and graphic portraits of Suvorov in connection with the artistic worldview of the era when one or another of these portraits was created, and to establish the degree of their iconographic authenticity. The edition is richly illustrated, contains color and tone illustrations. Andrei Valentinovich Pats-Pomarnatsky (Pomarnatsky) (May 26, 1903 - January 4, 1981) literary and art critic, employee of the State Hermitage Museum. Member of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945. Author of many scientific papers and books, including several editions of the `Winter Palace Military Gallery` (co-authored with V.M. Glinka), `Portraits of Suvorov`, `A.V. Suvorov and his contemporaries` (co-authored with V.P. Nikifirov) and others. Author of scientific attribution of the portrait of Stefan Bey Mavromikhali in the Kiev Museum of Ukrainian Art, compiler of numerous family and Russian chronicles of the past era with elements of artistic generalization. Author of the "Guide to the Gatchina Palace and Park" (1940), a cycle of memoir essays `Russian and family chronicles`.
