The cover and title page are the work of G. Narbut. Vladimir Piast (Pestovsky Vladimir Alekseevich, 1886-1940). During the years of the revolution and the Civil War, he wrote novels (all of them remained unpublished), worked a lot as a journalist and translator, published the “Third Book of Lyrics” (1922), and studied the theory of declamation and poetry. In 1926 he moved to Moscow, published “Modern Declamator” (1926), meaningful memoirs “Meetings” (1929), an original scientific research “Modern poetry. Rhythmics" (1931). In 1930-1931 was repressed in 1940; committed suicide.
