Cirtration 1000 copies. Rarity. Vadim Gabrielevich Shershenevich (1893-1942) - poet, translator. Shershenevich was born in Kazan into the family of a professor-lawyer at Kazan (later Moscow) University Gabriel Feliksovich Shershenevich, a prominent legal scholar, a member of the Cadet Party and the author of its program, a deputy of the First State Duma, mother, Evgenia Lvovna Lvova, was an opera singer. He began writing poetry while still in high school, and at the age of eighteen, as a student, he published his first book, “Spring thawed patches,” marked by the strong influence of Balmont’s poetry. Two years later he released the second - `Carmina` (1913), reflecting his passion for Blok. In 1926, Shershenevich published his own collection “So the result,” which really turned out to be his last book of poetry. In it he moved away from imagist poetics. Then the main thing for Shershenevich became work for the theater. Shershenevich's plays and sketches were staged by many Moscow theaters. He has written translations and adaptations of many plays, including Sophocles, Shakespeare, Moliere, Brecht, new librettos for a number of popular operettas and several film scripts. He worked as a stage director both in Moscow and in peripheral theaters.
