This book is an attempt to look into the various Tibetan death materials by presenting a series of writings showing typically Tibetan approaches and practices. The author analyzes nine texts illustrating the following seven main categories of literature on death and dying: an instructive guide for those who practice death meditation while alive; essays that inspire practice; stories about the death of great yogis; occult materials on methods of predicting signs of untimely death; logical methods to achieve longevity; methods of training the mind in the transfer of consciousness at the time of death; ritual texts read to help the deceased.
