Hungary. Beginning of the 16th century. The country is on the verge of destruction, cities and villages are devastated, thousands of its inhabitants die under Turkish sabers, tens of thousands are driven into captivity. And the young king Louis II, weak-willed and gullible, combs the curls of his beloved in the castle of Offen. He loves her more than country, royalty, and life itself.
