The 20th century, generous with technical achievements, scientific discoveries, wars and revolutions, left a rich legacy not only in the world of external accomplishments. No less intense was the knowledge of the inner world of man and those hidden forces that have been hidden in him since the moment of Creation. This area, inaccessible to "positive" knowledge, obeyed only those natures who, under the visible, were able to discern the invisible. Traditionally, they are called mystics. And no matter how diverse their teachings, they have approximately the same goal - Integrity and Enlightenment.
Some of the teachings presented in the "Encyclopedia" along with the figures of their creators are already known to the reader, this applies primarily to Gurdjieff, Castaneda, Osho. At the same time, the teachings of others, for example, Watts, Teilhard de Chardin, Crowley, Ivanov, have not yet been widely published, and the mysticism of the third was covered up by big politics or science, like that of Gandhi, Tsiolkovsky, Herbiger; therefore, along with sketches of personal biographies of outstanding mystics of the 20th century, this book also presents the most significant provisions of their views, which allows us to regard this "Encyclopedia" as a kind of introductory course into the mystical teachings of our century.
