This work reproduces a picture of the musical life of the 19th century in the city of Pavlovsk, tells about the democratization of the concert and performing business, which began after the construction of the Pavlovsky railway station, which became the first "summer philharmonic" in Russia. We see the figures of the largest conductors - J. Herman, I. Strauss, N.V. Galkin, N.A. Malko, who worked in Pavlovsk - in the illumination characteristic of their era. Of great interest are the illustrations on the pages of the book: now almost unknown works by artists of the past, rare photographs, etc.
