The author of the Bibliological Dictionary published and offered to the reader - the late (murdered) Archpriest Alexander Men - is widely known to Orthodox and non-Orthodox Christian readers as one of the most prominent writers and theologians of our century. His writings were written at a time when it was not safe to express thoughts that were theological in nature, even if the manuscript was intended for a desk drawer. Nevertheless, Father Alexander not only wrote, but also had the courage to seek and find access to a wide range of readers. His deep Christian conviction, inspiration with love for God and His Holy Church were the source of extraordinary capacity for work and fruitfulness, coupled with the depth of thought and reverent attitude towards the church heritage, especially, of course, the Word of God.
