The publication presents the life and death stories of two Russian tsars, Alexander II and Nicholas II. Alexander II. We are still looking for answers to tormenting questions: why did Russian society turn away from the tsar, called by Russian History the "Tsar-Liberator", who destroyed the shameful Russian slavery, reformed all Russian life, by the end of his reign? Why did the first Russian perestroika result in the most powerful terrorist organization, hitherto unknown in Europe? Why did the children of his own perestroika kill the great reformer? But the mysteries of that time concern not only Russia. Russian terror, born in the time of Alexander II, anticipated the terror of our century. And in today's newspapers one can read the same phrases, the same ideas that agitated the Russian terrorists who had long decayed in the earth in the days of Alexander II. Nicholas II. The century was then living out its last years. As now, older people then lived with a sad feeling that they no longer had anything to do with the future, which promised humanity the flourishing of science and serene prosperity. But young people lived in anticipation of what was to come. A century came with a special, mystically multiple number - "Twentieth". And two of the happiest young people - Nicky and Alix - lovers who happened to be united in marriage, and the rulers of one sixth of the world - also lived this happy future. And the day of their coronation promised to be a prologue to an even happier life, which certainly awaited them in the new century ...
