In the book of marine painter Nikolai Cherkashin, the most acute episodes of almost half a century of confrontation in the depths of the oceans of the submarine forces of the United States and the USSR-Russia are collected in chronological order. This includes mutual opposition during the Cuban (missile) crisis, and the actions of our submariners during the years of the Arab-Israeli wars, and during the period of so-called retaliatory measures (1983-1986), and well-known cases of underwater ramming. All stories are recorded by the author based on the stories of participants in the events , submarine commanders, officers, crew members who survived extreme situations.
