Батальон мужества

The beginning of the first Chechen military campaign. The battalion of the 137th Guards Airborne Regiment under the command of the Hero of Russia Guards Lieutenant Colonel Svyatoslav Golubyatnikov was thrown into the thick of the war - to the station square in Grozny. Flames rage in narrow quarters, shells and mines explode, bullets whistle, metal breaks and burns. Officers give commands in broken voices, try to contact high authorities and request support. The paratroopers, bearing losses, nevertheless continue to fight furiously ... They did the impossible. They completed their combat mission without disgracing the honor and valor of the Russian paratrooper. For the heroism shown, the entire (!!!) personnel of the battalion was presented for the award of the Order of Courage. Five officers were awarded the title of Hero of Russia. Such a massive, unanimous feat was recorded for the first time after the Great Patriotic War.
