A strategist, as you know, is a military leader, a commander who knows the art of war. However, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff has its own "strategists". They are long-range scouts, they serve in isolation from their homeland, on the territory of foreign states. That is why this intelligence is called strategic.
The book is dedicated to the employees of the GRU strategic intelligence. For those who started their work even before the Great Patriotic War, and also acted during the war.
This is a story about veterans who survived, won and were sent to strategic intelligence. They, among other things, had a hard time defending the country's strategic interests during the Cold War.
