The book-album from the Cities-Museums series is dedicated to the ancient Russian city of Pereslavl-Zalessky. In the XII-XIV centuries, Pereslavl was the center of a specific principality, standing on the way from Novgorod to Vladimir and Suzdal. The famous Russian commander Alexander Nevsky reigned in Pereslavl. The city remembers the oprichnina of Ivan the Terrible. On Lake Pleshcheyevo near Pereslavl, the young Tsar Peter I laid the foundation for the Russian navy. The book tells about the history of the city, about its architecture, easel and monumental painting, about the exhibits of applied art kept in the museum of Pereslavl.
