The book on the manuscripts of V. I. Vernadsky preserved in the Archives of the USSR Academy of Sciences publishes his latest works “Scientific Thought as a Planetary Phenomenon” and a series of essays united under the title “Space and Time in Inanimate and Living Nature”, which in 1975 and 1977 were published with significant reductions in two books under the general title “Reflections of a Naturalist.” For this edition, all texts have been re-checked with the originals. The book also contains little-known, as well as unpublished, and therefore still unknown, fragments of unfinished works, drafts of speeches and reports, excerpts from the scientist’s diaries and letters, which discuss philosophical and social issues of science.
