Prosperous writer Timothy Underhill travels from New York to his hometown of Millhaven for the funeral of Nancy, the wife of his younger brother Philip. Nancy committed suicide, and no one can explain the reason for her act. Along the way, it turns out that Nancy, before her inexplicable death, was visited by ominous visions. And Timothy's nephew, fifteen-year-old Mark, became obsessed with the old abandoned house next door. In the windows of this house and on the street next to it, the boy sees the Black Man. Meanwhile, children begin to disappear in the city, and soon Underhill learns of the disappearance of his nephew. Everything suggests that a maniac-killer appeared in Millhaven, but that's just a strange thing - as news from the other world, letters began to come by e-mail to the writer with the same note: "Lost boy, lost girl" ... < /p>
