A new book by the famous writer and journalist Andrei Sharoy is dedicated to the most European city in Russia - St. Petersburg. This is a collection of fifty-two - according to the number of weeks in a year - essays written by a Muscovite who has lived outside Russia for many years. The genre of the "Petersburg Globe" is defined by literary critics as "intellectual lubok": Andrey Sharoy's style allows you to combine cognitive texture with the simplicity of solving a topic, subtle irony and curiosity of a person who seeks to comprehend the hidden structure of urban life. As in his previous book of travel essays "Four Seasons", published in the "Letters of a Russian Traveler" series in 2006, the author is looking for answers to questions that are related not only to history and culture.
