Some of the sages of the people said: better is an agreement on plowing than strife in suffering. That is why I would like to preface my novel with a few words in order to agree on something with the reader in advance. First and foremost, the reader is faced with a novel created on a historical basis, and not a story presented in the form of a novel. The novel does not claim chronological sequence and scientific accuracy, because the author did not set himself such a goal. Historical science is one thing, a work of art is another. It is my deep conviction - and not only mine - that a work of art on a historical theme begins where history actually ends.
